Onnes Technologies is a Leiden-based, Quantum Technology startup company. We develop and build cryogenic nanopositioning tools dedicated for physics research at milli-kelvin temperatures. We are an ambitious team pushing the boundaries of Quantum research and technologies. We work in close collaboration with leading scientists from Leiden University and TU Delft.
Onnes Technologies is looking for a mechanical engineer to support the design and production of our high-tech, fine mechanic products. You work most of the time in our workshop where you be assembling; including soldering printed circuit boards, gluing with epoxy, working with piezo materials, and optimizing titanium parts by mill or laith. Additionally, you support engineering projects; including adjusting 3D designs, manufacturing custom components and testing components.
As Onnes’ Mechanical Engineer you enjoy working hands-on with high-tech products and advanced instrumentation. You can translate engineering concepts into (CAD) designs, organize the production, including the procurement and inspection of complex parts. You are well-organized person with an eye for detail that collaborates easily in a small team and is excited to learn about nano-mechanics, mechatronics, vacuum and cryogenic engineering.
What we are looking for?
- MBO-4 or HBO education level in (fine-)mechanical engineering, LIS education is an
- Hands-on expertise in fine mechanics, expertise in cryogenics is an advantage
